Posted by Danae Holloway in Jul, 2020

What are an organisation’s goals and plans?

Organisation goals are the objectives that are set in place to help guide the people that work for the organisation. The organisational plans are set in place so that all of the goals are able to be met in the best way possible.

Why does an organisation need to set goals and plans?

Organisations need to set goals and plans to make sure that everyone knows what is expected of them and to make sure that everyone works in a way that is expected of them without any confusion.

What are the different types of an organisation’s goals and plans used in business?

Different types of organisation’s goals and plans include:
  1. – Strategic Goals
  2. – Tactical Goals
  3. – Operational Goals
  • Strategic goals are set in place to make sure that the focus is on the broad general issues of the organisation. They are also set by the top management.
  • Tactical goals are set by middle managers and this is set to see what optical actions need to be taken to achieve the strategic goals.
  • Operational goals by the lower management for them as well. These goals are made to eliminate short-term issues that may have come about.

How are the organisation’s goals and plans communicated in a business?

Some ways that an organisation’s goals and plans can be communicated in a business includes:
  • Clearly defining the goals and plans
  • Share your purpose for these goals and plans
  • Make sure that the employees understand what the goals and plans really means
  • Make sure that you prioritise the message that you are trying to get across
  • Make sure that you are present in the conversation so that everyone knows that they have your attention if they have any questions
  • Make sure to invest in the conversation with your employees
  • You can also experiment with different medias to get the point across
  • Use clear, consistent and authentic communication when you are trying to explain the point of these goals and plans for the organisation.

When does a business set the organisation’s goals and plans and who is typically involved?

The people involved with an organisation’s goals and plans may include:
  • Staff
  • Key employees
  • Accountants
  • Department heads
  • Board members
  • External stakeholders.
The organisation’s goals and plans should have been started before the business was made and should continue to be worked on throughout the life of the business to continue making it a better organisation.
